I had a bad feeling about the game. All season, my beloved Chiefs flirted with the edge. Then—BAM—they ran into a buzzsaw. A better team, with a better plan, steamrolled them in the Super Bowl.
By halftime, it was clear: this just wasn’t our year. Credit to the Eagles—they were dominant. It was tough to watch, but it gave me perspective. My team has been to five of the last six Super Bowls, winning three. I’d bet 31 other fan bases would trade places in a heartbeat. It’s been an incredible run.
Last night reminded me how hard sustained success is—just like in business. There are highs and lows, moments when nothing goes your way. A few years ago, after another crushing Super Bowl loss, the Chiefs bounced back with two straight titles. They took the hit and responded.
The lesson? Sometimes you lose. The breaks don’t go your way. It’s easy to fold. But defeats are opportunities to learn and grow. Get up, dig in, and work harder. You’ll be back on top before you know it.
Until next time,
Bill
